Evolution Fall Health Challenge: Unprocessed Halfway

The Unprocessed Challenge has almost reached halfway. How are you doing? I have been mostly successful. The “rules” from the official site are first, to consider how many ingredients are in food and second, can you make it in your own kitchen. So far so good. I had tacos last night though and this got me thinking, the taco shells have few (and real – not chemical) ingredients, but would I make them in my kitchen? No. Which got me thinking which of these rules have more meaning for me. Ingredients are very important. And maybe this is why I was feeling like I was cheating. If I had lost it and gone out to buy chips to eat with my  dinner I would have been telling you that I drifted off the challenge last night. But, I ate tacos, which seem to me like big chips. I have eaten cranberry cake and pumpkin pie this week, which I would (and did) make at home for Thanksgiving and I have no feelings of being on the edge of the slippery slope, which is what the taco shells felt like. Which started me thinking, if I want to make my health a priority for the Health Challenge, maybe I need to explore my own “rules”? What about your rules for food?
